Magical Callan
How do you start them because I skate goofy I take my front foot off to put on the right hand side of me ground and because I have weight on the tail the board smacks me in the hand as I go to grab it.
Rodney
Grab the board just before you take your foot off.
Magical Callan
I tried them again today and I can grab the board but i'm trying to do 180 boneless and whenever I jump I can't seem to spin round very easily.

Why? huh.gif

For a 180 boneless, it helps to sort of swing your front arm out as you go to grab your board, which gives you the momentum to spin. It's just as easy as jumping and donig a 180 to be honest.

I found it easier to 180 Boneless into a tail stall on a kerb first. Once that is consistant, try them on the flat, just make sure you lean far enough forward to get your feet back on.
Rad
for a 180 boneless, put your left foot facing forwards not sideways, then in the air swing the rest with your arms

bonless pfft try doing a "TRICK" wink.gif
Rob.
yes, thats correct rickie! they are only tricks if YOU like them! anything YOU dont like no one else can learn, because of course, there is a trick learning routine you HAVE to learn! Ollie, Kickflip..

let him learn what he wants, and a Boneless is a 'trick'.

Boneless is an old school trick that probably got its name from the "bones brigade" back in the early 80's.

Thanks, I just wondered cause it could be used in freestyle. I like to boneless. In my school there is this curb that i like to 180 boneless onto. (BTW if bonelessing onto a curb, make sure your trucks dont slam into the side, i wrecked my elbow that way)

Here's some interesting information from our friend wikipedia:

This classic trick, invented by Gary Scott Davis, dates back to the freestyling era of skateboarding. Variations include rotations, varials, and hand flips. Basically the principle is where the skater grabs the skateboard while simultaneously stepping off the board and jumping with one foot. The skater then replaces the board under his/her feet and lands. It is commonly used to gain more height or performed down stair sets. Since the 1980s the Boneless has lost much of its popularity, however, there are still some cult skateboarders, such as Peter Vlad, Mike Vallely and Ali Boulala, that keep the trick alive. Originally, Gary Scott Davis thought this trick up. He didn't think it was possible though. His friend called him up one day to announce that he had done that trick and Gary came down to meet him. He realized how much easier it was to plant the front foot down and how much higher they can go. Contrary to popular belief, the name "Boneless One" has nothing to do with your legs or any part of the trick. It was a name given some time after the trick was done, and named after a puppet that one of his friends owned. The puppets name was Harry the Boneless One.

Taddaa.
