It's a matter of opinion..
Plenty of die hard indy fans... They do grind like no other..
I've got fury at the moment which are fine.
Silver are good but are not servicable.
Destructo give you massive nose and tail cos of their wheelbase, bit odd at first.
Thunder are good but heavy...
Best advice is to go to the shop, have a look, pick one you can afford and like.

Tensor mids/lows are practically indestructable bar the replacable plastic sliders, which do take some breaking. They are light, but lack on the hangers.
Currently riding venture superlight lows, cheap, grind really nice, decent weight and so far no problems, the new ones have moved over to the grade 9 kingpins which are the same as tensor to avoid previous problems with kingpin snappage.
Destructos are fair good, the ones i had were a little to high for my liking, but they grinded ok and held up well.
As already said, its a matter of personal preference.

Bollocks.. scania are far better!
I rode tensors for almost two years with no problems other than having to replace the sliders twice. The only downside of them i thought was they dont have much on the hangers so they appear to wear down exessively from grinding over a period of time.
Would still recomend them.
Grind kings are ok, although if you skate with loose trucks they may turn too much for some people.
Im currently riding venture lows, although initially i had doubts about getting them after a having a go on a mates board who also has them i decided to get some, plus they were cheap at £28. Previously they have been known to have brittle kingpins and weak baseplates but so far mine have held up well so far, they grind really nice, turn responsively and are relatively light. At full price i think they are around the £34-£40 mark, which is a little cheaper than most other brands unless they are in a sale or on special offer but for that price you cant really go wrong.

I have been skating for 18 yrs and in my experience of truck use I have to say that Royals have never given me a problem. They are good turning and strong. Ventures are too weak, and Tensors look like something that you buy in a toy store! Independent's are always reliable, and I have heard that Krux are very good. Let me know how Thunders r cus I havent had a pair since 1992. peace.

I think the latest range of ventures have overcome a lot of the weakness issues, i was a bit sceptical about buying them but ive had mine now for almost six months and they are holding out fine, prior to that i had tensors, which on looks might not be for everyone but strenth wise they are almost bombproof.
You'll remember gullwing street shadows i presume?..had a set of them for years couldnt break them even if i tried.

gullwings! I havent heard that name in years! they where the sponsors for most of the H-Street team. I had street shadows, they were my first truck. they lasted a couple of years, but the front hanger cracked after a slappy.Remember those A1-MEATS wheels? I had the sex wheels, and my friends mother said I was a pervert! BTW, how is the turning on the new Venture line? I stopped riding them cus the bushings used to be like concrete.

I got Tensors right now and to me they skate like a dream and grind really well (Compared to my Ventures).
The only problem with them may be the bushing but a few quid easily remedies that!

Tensors right now!

Yeah i think most of the h street team rode gullwings as i think tony mag had something to do with gullwing, i might be wrong though..cant remember to be honest was a long time ago. I vaugely remember the A1 meat wheels, think i saw them advertised in magazines around that time i was riding cockroaches or sma red dots i think. The turning circle on ventures depends how you ride them. I like mine loose, and the stock bushings are too hard for that so i swapped them for some doh dohs and they fine now, but if you like to ride them quite tight then the factory bushings are fine..until they split.
I had tensors prior to my ventures hood, really liked them. I didnt have any problems with my bushings in fact my only complaint was the kingpins sit a little high and theres not enough metal on the hangers so they seem to wear down quite fast and bugger up the threads on the kingpin, other than that i broke a couple of the plastic sliders too but they are only plastic...again the turning circle on them is pretty good if you ride them loose.
