I've been working at the heelflip for about a month now, I have the rotation right, but I always land with both of my feet landing on the ground with by heels about 1/2-1 inch in front of the board. Any way to correct this?

Sounds like your kicking the board behind you instead of straight out.
Patrick did a short trick tip video on these that you may find useful

most people ive seen with this problem s because they jump foreward with there foot instead of jumping up and bringing there foot back.
jsut practice jumping up as you do it and you will have them in no time

All I gotta say is..
Heelflips are awsome!!!There nice to do when you go fast or down sets/gaps ect. cos you have more of your foot on your board (in my case I can heelflip in the ollie position) so you get more balance

i got heelflips in a day but a week after i could only land one every 6 trys
I had this problem, and still kinda have it.
It's leaning too far forward. Try keeping really square and streight up on your board, with you chest facing forwards, almost to the point of where it feels like your leaning back.
i can rotate the board underneth me but i just cant seem to land them. i have only landed about 6

gge, make sure to kick earlier and jump much higher than you think would normally be necessary

i got weird heelflips
i pop then flip mid ollie instead of in one smooth motion, they are like 3 decks high :|
i would say when you do it have your foot further down the board about midway and make sure where your toe joins your foot is on the edge of the board
pop and flip in one motion, roll too it usually helps keep the board underneath you

My heelflips are vertical, and therefore unlandable. Help?

think of the kick fliop but just use your heel and keep looking at the board at all times so you can keep your feet in the position you need if you can do kick flip that would help you alot thats how i learnt heel flip in about 2h

Kickflips are actually nothing like heelflips. Unless you count the whole jumping and landing back on your board thing.
