Hi,

which tricks would you perform if you were in a freestyle/street skate competition (top 10).

Niall

Fozzz
Well if I were on a street course, I would definately make some sort of freestyle/street hybrid tricks, that's an area which hasn't really been fully expanded into yet. To pick 10 tricks is tricky though, I'd stick to the lesser used moves (no comply tricks, rail tricks, etc) and go for originality
Dr. HeartStrings
depends on the course layout.

you don't want to take too many risks (unless you aren't concerned with how you place) so that your consistancy mark is high.

personally i couldn't care less for placing so i will try whatever i feel like at the time

I'd take the improvisation approach and just make it up as i go along.

and a hospital flip would be?
Dr. HeartStrings
budget casper flips are what hospital flips are.

ugly ugly trick.
Ben
Id have to get a treflip in a comp, id just have have to!
Jonn
inward heel something
Adamregskater
depends entirly on the course but the best thing to do is use everything and vary your tricks (say Huge Tweaked melon then nollie 270 heel over a funbos hip then back smith a ledge then go for a rail then a tre flip) smile.gif just like in Ross's run

Pfft... there a sexxy trick if done properly, its just most of the time there not because the damn hard! there a ollie then while in the air you tap the nose and it sends in into a nollie hardflip with out the nollie pooping part becuase you've alreasdy ollied.

Some beacuse can even do the 360 versions which are the same but a nollie 360 hardlfip!

From what i understand from that post (which admittedly isn't a lot), that's a murder flip
Dr. HeartStrings
its like english, but yet somehow completely different...

anyway, casperflips when done properly (2 feet, noone of this 1 foot business) are nice, hospital flips, which are dirty one foot flipped ones are horrid. always.

I'd like to be able to do the 2 footed version, but whenever i do it always does a late shuv and doesn't flip over. I fond Hospital flips to be way easier to control.
Simon

1.Wheelies
2.footwork
3.Rail tricks
4.Handstand stuff
5.rolling tricks (old school kickflips, fingerflips)
6.Tech tricks
7.Pogo tricks
8.wheelies
9.footwork
10.multiple 360's
Dr. HeartStrings

if you try something big and land it, they love it
i entered a comp, and landed a boardslide down a handrail and a kickflip off a huge ledge and almoist landed a double flip off the huge ledge
bascially, show them your the next best thing
KMA
best trick comp is where its at!
Adamregskater
I disagree!

Runs/ Jam's are much better and take more skill to place!

nah i disagree

when i entered my first comp, there was a best trick comp and then a single run comp.

the best trick was more relaxed and the single run felt horrible

+ best trick is just amazing to watch, thats where the sickest stuff happens
Serapth
Id consume vast amounts of castor oil then proceed to shit everywhere during my run, resulting in me winning.

From a spectators point of view, runs can be boring as fuck when the skaters are playing it safe just to get to the next round, but saving the best stuff for the final is always good to watch although i prefer watching the best trick comps, its more of a session than a comp and usually the best stuff gets nailed there.
dave and his friend billy
personally, i've never been in a comp before, bacause im not good enough.
But if i entered one i would definately mix old skool, freestyle and street into it and also try to watch the other skaters and what they do, because i think a judge would be more impressed if you did a 360 boneless to primo when no one else has, that you doing a triple kickflip when everyone else has. Only my opinion though

I am slowly preparing myself for the anual comp we have at the St Neots park evry summer heheh. Things I hope to do in my run.

Ollie the driveway
Nollie Heelflip on Flatbank
Something simple like FS 50-50 or BS Boardslide down Driveway ledge
Heelflip to FS BOardslide down driveway ledge
Ollie off the roll in (bout 7 feet high)
Finish off with a Front Flip Indy out of the jumpbox

Have to add some other stuff but the course is quite shit so I dunno what else to do that woudn't have been done by myself already.
Adamregskater
Whens the st neots comp?
JJBDude
Will be sometime in August, I still need to organise it with the NRG group sometime.
dave and his friend billy
my school went to rampworx for a nice educational p.e trip...and we just screwed around on our boards. but little did we know we were being watched by some guys who work there.
the best six people won a prize and i was one of them.
i got:
the academy is t-shirt
a 300 arabian nights t-shirt (what ever that is)
a bunch of stickers (gorrillaz, beastie boys, nike 6.0, toy machine ect.)
