At last, its being released. God knows how long I've been waiting for this, but it looks amazing. Completely historically inaccurate, macho and sexist, but filled with sweaty, muscly Spartans beating the living shit out of some Persian guys on rhinos.

not true its close to what really happened but there wasn't 300 spartans there were 10,000 including the Athenian. and they where vastly out numbered and faught for 3 days. Giving time for Greek to send its navy out and distory the Persians.

Thats debatable. I just finished reading a book about the battles in the Persian-Greek campaign, the figure is generally agreed to be around 7000 men, including 300 spartans, 1700 Athenians and various other factions from the surrounding areas, including Macedonians, as well as 400 or so heavy cavalry. The Persian force is now thought to have been around 100,000, as due to the restrictions in water and food supplies around that area at the time, taking a force of 1 million (the original number) would have resulted in exhausting the Persian supplies, causing the army to be defeated by hunger before it even reached Sparta. The Greek navy was dispatched to actually go and beg help from other Greek factions, but ended up meeting the Persian navy in battle, and having their arses kicked.
