Most probably the best piece of World War II based film available.
Far better than any film thats endorsed by Hollywood main-stream celebrities.
Really gets to me; this program.
Just goes to show that war really isn't all that glamorous.
Pure brilliance.

It's got lot's of mainstream celebs in it.
Not to say it isn't awesome though, just too depressing for me.

Yeah ive got the box set aswell, i was just thinking about watching it again, does he ever find a luger in the end?
Trix
Apr 14 2007, 11:37 PM
Who? Hoobler or Malarkey? Hoobler finds one in Bastonge (sp?) and accidently shoots himself in the leg and kills himself, and then Lipton gives the Luger to Malarkey.

yes, he also kills a German too, and then shoots Grant in the head, who is then treated by a German brain surgen and is saved.
As for favorite characters, Captain Spears.

I would hace said spears if he'd had more screen time in the beginning. He's easily the most hardcore guy on the show, just with very little to do until around episode 7.

Episode Two, were he jumps out of the trench and takes the last 88 by himself. But you're right, in episode seven when he relives Dyke of command and hooks up with I Company is amazing.

Apr 15 2007, 01:14 PM
All he does is take the 88 though, we don't get to see much of his character at all.
Doc Roe was good too, but he appeared even less than Spears
Trix
Apr 15 2007, 01:28 PM
He was featured for the entire of episode 6 but then we bearly see him in the rest of the series.

Apr 16 2007, 07:46 PM
Exactly....
The camera focuses on him every now and then, and he treats a few guys in episode 4, but it really isn't enough.

Yeah, he's gotta be one of mine too actually.
When he's whole squad gets killed whilst taking that Artillery out.
I swear he's invincible..
