ok there's this pretty cool gap at the local park. It's a fun box , then a small 2-3 ft gap, and then another fun box. i really want to hit it but i'm afraid that my back trucks might get caught on the end of the second fun box. Or that i'll ollie to late and my front trucks will be over the gap making me slip out. OR... that i just won't clear the whole thing. Can anyone please give me a suggestion on how to overcome my fear and what and what not to do?? Thanks

Sadly there is no real advice that will make the gap any easier.
As already said, you have to just go for it and try stick it, the first few attempts will give you a feel for it.
Try to imagine how much speed you will need for it, then go faster than that, as in most cases with gaps.
Fact is your going to have to take slams to progress, everyone does.

Apparently, just running up to the gap and jumping across it helps you get into a realistic and focused state of mind.
Give it a go.

how i started off clearing gaps was to get a stone and mark out a box and i would ollie it and increase its size
until i coulld ollie a big gap so try and draw a box on the ground the same size as the gap and once u can clear it on
the ground try clearing the funbox gap also try finding area of grass you can ollie as that will help too

Like everyone else as said you just have to go for it! If it doesn't work out then get up and keep trying! I lost count of how many times i bailed & face planted etc when i was first learning
You shouldnt really hang up on funboxes, unless they somehow have coping along the edges.

Just go for it, ollie and then kick the board away in the air. You will then know if you clear it enough to make it, then its just a case of sticking to it!
