STEP 1: go fast
STEP 2: ollie
STEP 3: land
STEP 4: ride away clean
it's okay to take a few shizz runs at it and just pop the board and jump away from it to build confidence. (that's what i do anyways). forget any pressure anyone else has put on you and commit to it when you feel confident that you can do it. follow your gut feeling (if you feel something bad is going to happen you shouldn't try it, cause chances are with that feeling you wont make it anyway)
i hope this has helped

Start small and work up to bigger sets.
Goes without saying really, but you'd be surprised..

speed speed and more speed! when i used to skate sets i could never do this 4 near me and it really annoyed me but there was no space whatsoever at the top and i couldnt get enough speed and kept landing one the bottom step.

I didn't really push myself for stes, do much of a wimp at first but one day it just cllciked(maybe because i was confortable enough wiht my ollies) and i knew i could do the set(five set at the time). So i'd say don't push yourself just yet wait till you ahve the confidence to do it first

Take a slow run and stop, take a deep breath, get used to ollieing the stairs and then try tricks over it, it helps me if its anything more then a 4 but thats just me.

Your going to need to have full confidence in yourself about knowing it is in your capability to do it. Therefore Ollies on the floor at speed 100% everytime. Going to need to make sure you have good control over your board and be able to cope with the speed needing to go, then it's just a case of popping your Ollie, doing what you know you can do and not being a whimp.

When you ollie the stairs, it always feels like you aint gonna make it but just stick it out and you will land it and feel the best rush ever,
once you land it you wont stop doing it mate
Good Luck

Word.
As soon as you have your ollies down and at speed. All it takes is balls to stick it really.
Something that helps me is just repeat the word "commit" over and over in my head when i'm doing the stairs.
