I feel like i'm doing something wrong. Whenever I put my foot onto the board after i've stopped kicking I put it on the nose or around that area. Is this just something that needs practice, or my style?

My mate skates like that and hes got the best 180 and heelflips ive seen.

From the discription it sounds like your pushing mongo.

Try pushing the other way with you back foot.

I throughly concur With Adamregskater here! If your pushing mongo which it sounds like you are you really need to get out of that habit as it restricts you alot when skating.

I agree!

I pushed mongo when i started, and i know it sounds a bit silly to say this, but as well as restricting yourself and it being easy to lose balance while just riding. I realised i looked like a pleb riding like it.

I don't think its too much of a big deal. But can become a pain in the arse.

I dont see how it would restrict you, anyone want to explain?
Serapth
It doesnt restrict your skating at all, it doesnt make any difference when skating something with very little run up either. The only thing pushing mongo does is look ugly, however in my opinion you cant make comments about how it looks if you push mongo in switch yourself.

New Gnu
It does restrict you.
When you push mong you have to do more adjustments with your feet.
It takes longer to set up.. Can be a problem with a short run up.
I've seen a really good mong skater splat (more than once) as he couldn't get his feet right fast enough.

Learn to push properly!!

Sure the its the same for pushing regular.. you need to turn your front foot so its in the correct position for (insert trick here) and then get your back foot on the tail.

Pushing mongo you put the front foot where you want it for whatever trick as you step back on the board and adjust the back foot on the tail.

Ive seen plenty people who push switch mongo who can set up for something with minimal run up with no problem so i cant see how it makes any difference and/or restricts you. Likewise ive seen really good regular pushing skaters slam real hard due to not being able to get their feet in position fast enough. Personally i dont think the level of ability has much to do with it. Its just skateboarding.

I agree with sken. I cant see one posible way it would be a disadvantage. minus the fact it dosnt look as nice but does anyone acctualy care about that?
