All this reading about Bearings has made me realise I have ad the same Bones Red's for 2 years? Should I have changed them by now? Two of my wheels only spin for a few seconds.
If I did get new bearings, would brand new Reds be much faster than my current ones? And If I did want to buy faster bearings than Reds, what should I go for? Cheers.

Just pop the shields off, wipe them down, chuck some lube on them and chuck them back in your wheels.
See you in 2009 for another 'do I need new bearings?' topic!

Unless the bearings are damaged cleaning them should work.
meh, change them anyway
i change mine every few months
OK I'll relube them then. Found some info online on how to disasemble them.
Any lubes you lot reccomend? For skateboarding, that is. Also, do u actually fully submerge the open bearings in lube or just pour lube into each one?

Speedcream if you can get it, if not, gear oil/vasaline will suffice, you only need a little tiny drop too.

I've had the same bearings for longer than 2 years, and they still work fine. Well, I've had to replace a few, butother than that, they're fine.
