Can somebody please tell me if there is any special technique to ollieing on and off of stuff?
apparently (according to friends, who also skate) i have a pretty high, stable ollie but even if im just trying ollieing off the pavement i make a complete mess of it

Just keep at it, you'll soon get up and ollie off kurbs no problem. smile.gif

Not much tips can be said, but I think for learning you are going to want to look down at your board as if you were doing a normal Ollie off the floor. If you keep looking at the ledge ahead of you or the drop ahead then you won't be focusing as much on the Ollie, just look down at your board and judge the Ollie at the right time, do everything you can already do and you should be fine.

But really you just need to practise. smile.gif

ollie a reasonable height and land as if your just doing a rolling ollie (not too much weight here or there) then bend your legs a little bit more than usual to absorb the shock

all the advice i can give you really, its the same thing for ollieing stairs tbh smile.gif

stay above the board and land on the bolts, thats it..
