Getting some trucks for christmas and wanted to know if you could change the kingpins in Royal or Krux as I've snapped a fair few venture kingpins before and had to buy new trucks because I couldn't get the broken kingpin out to replace it, thanks smile.gif

switching kingpins is no problem, krux and grindking tend to hardly have snapped kingpins tho as they sit lower in the truck than all the others!

I had a pair of grindking lows and they were awful, i snapped the baseplate and the kingpin within the space of 3 months, I think they must have been defects or something.

ive had krux downlows for nearly 3 years now, and ive never snapped a kingpin and i snapped so many royal kingpins before i got them. not 100% sure on what the normal sized krux's are like though

Never had any problems with my venture lows and have been riding them for over a year now.

Bought some indy lows a couple of weeks ago, have only skated them once and i was just pottering about, stood on my board the other night in the kitchen (the dog likes to sit on the board while i rock back and forth) and the kingpin on the front truck snapped for no reason..knew i shouldnt have bought indys!

Indy kingpins might as well be made out of paper. sad.gif

Ouch, I thought indy's were meant to be practically indestructable, the amount of rep they get is incredible.

A pair of Krux downlows have been passed around about 3/4 different people in the space of 2 years before i had them, i then used them for a year and a half and have just passed them on to my friend. Never been anything wrong with them.
Worship the Krux.

I've nothing against the trucks themselves, but if you do get them i'd advise keeping your old kingpins, especially if you ride tight trucks.

The only bad thing about indy's is the bushings and kingpins. But it doesn't cost much to change them.

Considering how long they have been making trucks, and how much they cost to buy, having to replace the bushings (£6.50+ for indy lows as they have made them so no other bushings fit) and a kingpin on trucks that are practically brand new is pretty inexcusable.

Yeh, if i was spending that money on Indy's i.e around £40-50 i'd expect them to be indestructable, considering i got some sick ventures for like £30.

ventures and krux have never let me down! the factory bushings on krux are a bit shitty tho.I usually ride my trucks tight,so indy's kingpins probs wont last me as long as ventures or krux.
