@Harry: The XMB is the PS3's menu/interface. It stands for cross media bar or something along the lines of that.
@Adam: Sony said they're not going to add a complete in-game XMB, they're only gonna add an in-game friends list as that's all you need. Nobody really wants to watch videos or view images while playing a game. Should be coming soon, though.

That new Sixaxis bowling game on the PS Store allows you to import tracks or playlists into the game.

Anyway, I just transferred a couple of DivX films to the PS3 with my mp3 player and they play fine. Too bad most of the film's I've downloaded are encoded in Xvid.
EDIT: Apparently it plays Xvid files too.
