I always used to be like that.
Then I discovered horizontal comps.
They changed my life.

You're zoomed on that shot though, yes?
What lens did you use?
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 12:19 AM
a round one.
seriously guys, i'm just shooting for fun. I don't want to get all technical.
trix, if i can be honest. i don't really like your long lense shots. so please don't force your techniques onto me.
love you
Patrick
Jan 17 2008, 12:29 AM
And what do you think we shoot for?
Lighting and exposure is nice on the last shot though. But all Trix was trying to do was help with comp and shit.
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 12:34 AM
I know, i know.
Constructive criticism and all that.
But still... I like my shots. I like being close up. I like having the skater in the middle of the shot.
.. and i'm damn proud of the ones i've posted up. Just wanted to share my proudness with you all.

FISHEYE!!!
But yeah don't get me wrong, your lighting looks nice nearly all the time.
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 12:41 AM
haha some of those pics are actually taken with a fisheye, but i'm so shit at it.
today was the first day i'd ever used a fisheye on my own, so yeah, those might be a bit crap.
Trix
Jan 17 2008, 08:59 AM
cropped out vig?
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 09:02 AM
Nope
Trix
Jan 17 2008, 10:08 AM
what fisheye were you using? none of the shots look very fishy
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 10:19 AM
The only fisheye shots are the ones on the bank and the ollie.
I was using pip's fisheye. 10mm-20mm i think.

Patrick
Jan 17 2008, 11:17 AM
It was a 10mm?
Were you fully wide on it?
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 11:21 AM
Yeah, why?
Am i missing something?
Patrick
Jan 17 2008, 11:25 AM
It doesn't look "very fishy" as trix says, like a 10mm.
Did you crop the shots?
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 11:28 AM
the ollie certainly isn't cropped.
I can't see the pics right now, as flickr is blocked at work, but one of the bank shots is cropped.
One with a shadow in the bottom right corner? That shadow was much bigger, but that was the only crop. just cutting out the shadow.

the shots well fishy! mikey is in it!!
the lense is a 10-20 asperical fisheye, so it is corrected and doesnt have the "shitty round effect" that ruins photos, i played with the new 4.5mm lense and its as dramatically pointless as the 8.5mm, its not 1992 anymore so sticking the widest lense under a crook grind is more than passe' - the super fish/death lense culture is over kids.
i think the shots are good, and considering they arent photoshopped to hell like 90% of the photos i see on here i think its good work all round!
claire come shoot me!
HARRY.

Yeah, it's hardly like I'm saying it's all about fisheyes, cause I prefer longlens over fisheye shots any day, I'm just saying it didn't look that wide.
And yeah Claire the bank shot was the one I was talking about being cropped.
Claire
Jan 17 2008, 11:47 AM
Wait, did I only put up one bank shot?
What a plank.

who said there is anything wrong with using photoshop? but when a photo isnt distorted to look better, I think it pays a bigger compliment to the photographer, these are "raw" shots, so im sure we could all make them even better by playing with the exposure or stretching the shot to make things look bigger/harder/cooler. but credit where credits due y'know.
I use photoshop all the time, I have to I only shoot RAW, but i never creat a new essence to a shot.

haha, that's why we took that pic.
Strategically placed sticker. We tried a kickflip, but i just couldn't catch it, so we tried a heelflip (results above) then Mikey suggested the indy.
Fookin' stoked.

Awesome you put them up! Dude that was such an awesome day, these pictures turned out really well. Patrick and Trix stop your flaming! Haven't had a chance to edit the Raw files as I'm at my lady's at the moment. I think my favourites was the Euston bank sticker sesh one and the ollie over the driveway
