If you were able to direct a video for a particular song, what would the song be and what would you put in it? Or do you have a music video in mind that you think would have worked better if it was done a different way?

All mine would be horribly pretentious, so i wouldn't dare touch an existing song.

I did have an idea for my old band though, which was to take place at night in a dense wood/forest, and a group of girls and a group of boys with their faces covered up go charging at each other like they're going into battle, but in slow motion.

But then i was kicked out of that band, so they'll never realise my flair as a director.

though i have had an idea for an as yet undecided song, for the video to centre around a game of chess, 2 men sat in the middle of a completely empty room (aside from the band who are playing beside the 2 chess players, but are invisible to them).

the video would mostly centre around the game played mostly in real time from a single side on angle with the chess players in the foreground and the band out of focus behind them, however there would be occasional cuts to the band, and to the individual chess players as the game and the song progess.

its all very arty farty then at the end there is a winner, they shake hands and the losers pulls out a gun,shoots the winner and leaves the room to a quiet drone of feedback.
