I can't remember if this has been done before, nothing turned up on the search I did. Reading the David Bowie thread inspired me to do this, so what are your favourite soundtracks?

Mine are
Labyrinth
Pump Up The Volume
The Lost Boys
Interview With The Vampire
The Crow

Dom South
Haggard
Dirty Sanchez the movie
KAONASHI
Labyrinth
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Beck covering Korgis? Yes please)
STEAK (MR OIZO GOODNESS)
Irreversable
Romeo and Juliet
28 Days Later
Juno
Pan's Labyrinth
Silent Hill (more or less the soundtrack from the first two games)
Donnie Darko, clearly
Matrix
Death Proof
Fight Club (if you don't like that Pixies song, then you're a fucking jizzcock)
If we're talking skate videos then all of them can go home unless they're Static 1, 2 or 3. Untouchable.
Rodney
Donnie Darko soundtrack wins.
Friday Night Lights
Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait
and i also thought the Bourne trilogy's soundtrack was pretty excellent.
As far as skate videos go, Fully Flared definitely has the best use of music i've ever heard on a skate vid.
Matt2k
Juno
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of liberty
Kill Bill v.1

I can't think of anymore right now...

I was thinking about that, but I forgot how any of it sounded, just knew that it was rad.

Also, Matt, excellent call on Sons of Liberty.
Matt2k
Harry-Gregson Williams is a fucking genius.

Spine tingling.

If we're going classical, Venetian Snares' last album was supposedly a soundtrack, but i've never seen anything of My Downfall.
KAONASHI
According to the invaluable source of assumptions that is Wikipedia, it is not a soundtrack to any film, but to the soundtrack of Aaron Funk's own personal downfall.

Tsssh. Good crack though.
Aracmia
I forgot about the Donnie Darko soundtrack, The Killing Moon is probably my favourite off that. Although I didn't like the song Mad World, even if it was better than the Tears for Fears version.
The matrix soundtrack was ok, I liked Clubbed To Death before it was overused.
I also liked the Hackers soundtrack. That film is so dated now, they were getting excited in it about 28k modems. I have just noticed there is a second version of the hackers soundtrack, might have to have a listen of that.

Ahh, fair play.

Also, continuing with the theme of soundtracks that aren't really soundtracks, The Flashbulb's new album Soundtrack To A Vacant Life is pretty amazing. I'd say he's on a par with Aphex when it comes to sequencing.
Trix
Pink Floyd The Wall.
The Beatles Yellow Submarine.
28 MOTHER FUCKING DAYS LATER.
Apocalyspe Now.
Platoon.
Forest Gump.
Pulp Fiction.
Juno.
Donnie Darko.
The Departed.
Watership Down.

skatey videos.

Zero - Dying To Live.
Zero - New Blood.
Toy Machine - Good & Evil.
Adio - One Step Beyond.
Flip - Sorry.
Killcity - Tourettes.
Osiris - Feed The Need.

Sir Francis Drake The Board Game The Film The Soundtrack To The Film of The Board Game
Treflip
Unbreakable- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27FosuOUv3I

Listen to the whole ten minutes. James Newton Howard is a great composer.

Also worthy of note is Samuel Barbers score for Platoon, Thomas Newmans work on The Shawshank Redemption, Clint Mansells score for Requiem For A Dream and Hans Zimmer's score for the third POTC film.

Games wise, Sons Of Liberty is rad, as are Morrowind, Oblivion, and the three Halo games.

Off the top of my head -

Star Wars original Trilogy
Blade Runner
Most Tarantino/Rodreguez films
Lock Stock
Jurassic Park
Human Traffic
Lord of The Rings Trilogy
Death Proof
Gangs of New York
Terminator Theme
Trainspotting
2001 Space oddessy.

There are loads of films where you don't even notice the soundtrack until the second watch or third time watching..
A-Cup
28 Days Later.
Amelie.
American Beauty.
School of Rock.
Shaun of the Dead.
KAONASHI
Good call on Requiem Treflip (yup, I said it). Anything involving Clint Mansell is bound to be so gnarly, it's vomit inducing.

Pulp Fiction.
Pulp Fiction.
Pulp Fiction.
PULP FICTION.
Rodney
Word @ Clint Mansell's stuff.
+Amon Tobin's soundtrack for Splinter Cell.

I'm in the mood for punctuation instead of words.
KAONASHI
Oh, Rodney, that's probably the best thing I've heard all day. And this is coming from someone who has just finished watching Pulp Fiction.

*pours another glass of lemonade and leans back*
Aracmia
The only Clint Mansell stuff I have heard was one song from Requiem For A Dream (I have watched the film but didn't realise he had anything to do with it) and his former band Pop Will Eat Itself which is nothing like what he does now.
alex04
Juno's soundtrack was great...

Splinter Cell series and Rainbow Six Vegas as far as games go.
nexangelus
No-one's mentioned Quadrophenia yet...I also like the Children of Dune soundtrack (the mini-series done later, not the original film which I still think is naff as f**k and I am a HUGE Dune (the series of books) fan to this day)
