Thankz that makes it more clear lol i think my prob is trying it still and i dont have much space for rolling ph34r.gif

Yeah, you definitely need to learn shuvits and pop-shuvits whilst rolling. You don't need that much space, so a flat driveway should do. Otherwise, your best bet is to find a good flat empty car park (visit outside of business hours if you want to avoid any aggro).

As with a lot of tricks, you have to get used to your legs moving in different directions. It's really just a question of mind over matter - but that isn't too helpful.

You could try standing on the ground behind your board and spinning it around just using your back foot. You can see what I'm talking about 45 seconds into the following video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQjesMsq_Ao

Once you have got that movement nailed you can try it on your board again. Use the same movement with your back foot/leg and try to concentrate on keeping your front foot centred in the middle of your board. It helps if you think of your front foot as a fixed pivot point, which the board rotates around.

Also, if you had any trouble keeping your ollies straight and figured out how to stop yourself from turning, you would use the same technique to avoid spinning during a shuvit.

I learnt them Fakie (rolling backwards) first - they seem easier to land that way when you're starting. But everybody's different. Keep at them and you'll get 'em eventually smile.gif

Wow that video is really good. Now i get it happy.gif
I think i should just learn the shuvit first without the pop...is that easier???
I don't have much space either but I know a smooth concrete basketball court i can practise on laugh.gif

with the pop isn't harder, just needs a little more commitment, and i would say its better for gaining confidence, where as without the pop is better for overall board control.

I have just started skating and I have this trick down! smile.gif Make sure you have like some your toes off the edge of the back of ur board *the tail i think*, push the back down and kick it backwards but around. make sure ur front foot is out of the way...

this is the way I do it.

Basicly here's my advice:
Do backside first and don't kick out with front font only use the back to pop and swipe back at the same time then just forward or you can pop then jump forward and kick your foot back slightly is what I do....

Yes, keep spinning until you have gone 180 as well and then land it. that way you'll have either just landed a 180 ollie or a pop shuvit body varial. (depending upon which way you spin.) wink.gif
