I'm still fairly new to skating but am now pushing and street skating comfortably.
Problem is, I dont seem to be going as quick as I have seen others.
I'm a modest 12 stone, my setup is a plan B deck, Venture lo trucks, bones reds and heroin wheels.
I've checked my wheels are loose enough.
On the skate DVD's that I've seen, the guys are speeding along for ages after one kick and still going after landing 2 or more tricks, I'm having to kick after every 10 yards or so.
Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

Do you push flat-footed?
I do.
I loose loads of speed like that.

I can think a few bearings let me down. Lucky Abec 7s, 6 popped in 2 weeks! All of my blueprint bearings popped with-in 2 weeks again, major bummer!

Depends on ur weight aswell, if your heavy footed u aint speeding about but if you centre your weight you may find a speed increase. Another reason could be if that, your not putting your foot in front of you far enough maybe because of scared or imbalance and fear of losing control swing your pushing foot as far as you can you get going like push ALL the way back with all your forceuntil ur tip of ur toes are coming of the ground and your leg is str8 but slightly bent.
Best of luck

I heard you have to tighten the wheels or get some wheels that are smooth and you will fly!
