Hi,

I seem to get pressure cracks in my decks really easily, they go along the length ofthe board at the bolt holes on the top ply (+griptape) and bottom ply... This is obviously weakening the board - how can I avoid this? I think it's my skating style causing it possibly... I run risers already.

Should I get a deck with less concave or something? Or a more flexible deck - I only really buy cheap decks as they're gonna get destroyed anyway tbh..

swap to a differnt deck, dont use risers, and make sure you catch those tricks on the bolts
if you think your gonna land back foot on tail front foot in middle then just dont land it
Rodney
How cheap do you usually buy?
If you're only paying about £20 or something, you're going to get a really shit deck. You get exactly what you pay for with skate stuff, especially decks, so if you spend a little more on a better-made deck (your local skateshop should be able to give you advice), you'll get something that lasts longer smile.gif

Well the worst deck I got recently was like 25 quid, a company called Enuff... but I snapped that from a tail landing down a 5 set :S I think the pressure cracks added to the strain tho

At the moment I have a Speed Demons and that has some cracks, I mostly land on the bolts as well... Think I'll try the no risers for a while and see what it's like. Need to change my trucks as well indys are a bit too heavy for my liking.

I dont reckon risers are going to make much of a difference. I've never used them and my decks seem to last fine despite my inability to land most tricks anywhere near the bolts...

Spend a few extra quid on a decent british-made deck (cheaper but still just as good as the american ones) and you should notice that it lasts much longer.

Enuff make vile skateboarding equipment. As do Blueprint.

Get a Landscape deck, they're normally nice and sturdy.
