Elf
hi guys,
i got my first board a week ago last friday, its a world industries board.
Its canadian maple i believe, and there are layers, and in the middle of the layers there is a red one.
After only doing ollies for that time im already down to the red layer (half way through!)
is this normal, or will it break if i keep going?

thanks,

Also my bearings are dirty as hell, do i nee to clean them?
dicky boy
don't drag the tail on the floor but no it shouldn't matter.
If your bearings are dirty get some white spirit and leave the mto soak. Don't skate in mud and rain and shit.
Edwin
Its your first deck, you will be expected to wreck it, saying that, wreck it, not disrespect it.
just skate about and your bearings should come fine, after a week i wouldn't expect them to be fully run-in
Elf
Hi again,

i think i can do with my deck for a bit longer but im gonna start saving up for a new deck, i was considering

Blueprint - Baines after hours deck 7.5 - Heard nothing but praise for these, and there British!
http://www.rollersnakes.co.uk/catalog/Blue...750-p-52445.htm

Plan B - Sheckler deck - Its nothing to do with ryan shecklers name, its the only design i liked that was 7.5, iv heard alot of good praise for these.
http://www.kateskates.co.uk/productdetails...amp;x2=&x3=

Alien workshop - Rob Dyrdek Frogger - Again heard nothing but good things about the durability.
http://www.kateskates.co.uk/productdetails...amp;x2=&x3=

So i was wondering which one would suit me best, things id like are
-Good durability, because im quite tight on money - the longer it lasts the better.
-Good, lasting pop, ^^
-Deep concave, im not sure about this, but any mellow concave decks iv been on i havnt liked - but they were all crap boards anyway so im a bit partial to this one.

Thanks alot cool.gif

Scrap those and buy a landscape. wub.gif

Elf i don't think youu'll need a new board just yet, howeverget a fucking landscape deck!
Or a heroin deck, they're basically the same wood same make same fos. but i prefer landscape.

in true arny style "Do it now!"
Elf
Have landscapes good a deep concave?
and are they light (well, not heavy anyway) but strong, and lasting pop?

those are my two main needs now cool.gif
Coley
landscape are rediculously (poor spelling or what) light

i currently have a blueprint and its sexy as fuck
had a sheckler before that and going back to it it feels heavy and end chipped after about 7 months
Elf
So would you say the landscape was the best for flip tricks and general skating?
or the blueprint?

i think its between them two now.

Landscape - cant find one that is a 7.5 by 31, any help on this?
dicky boy
Slam city skates, if you are only a beginner size shouldn't rely matter yet. Blue print are shit cos they chip to easily wear down and generally ay. My opinion.
If you go on slam city skate website you can get 7.6 or 7.75, i can't see it making a difference to you. I got my landscape deck last october and it last me to january, i gave it to my mate cos he snappd his almost and he's still got it and to prove it's still got decent pop in it heres a vid from tuesday.
landscape boi!!!
Trust me, get a landscape.
Elf
ok thanks very much, landscape it is.

Since im a bit, lacking knowledge, im presuming i was wrong to think my trucks wont fit a bigger deck?
Because il be keeping everything else and just changing decks.
Coley
trucks fit most decks only if your going above 8 do you have to worry
Elf
Ok thanks very much, does anybody thats ordered off slamcity skates know if they come with free griptape?
And sorry to be a pain but will a 7.6 make it harder to do flip tricks?

Thanks very,very much
dicky boy
well yes slam will give free grip and 7.5s seem to over flip for me. i ride 7.75
Coley
i find it equally hard on both but i pref other trick on a 7.75 and well i think its whatever your used to
Elf
Okay,
I think im going for this one
http://www.kateskates.co.uk/productdetails...amp;x2=&x3=
But im a bit worried that its longer, but im presuming il be alright, it'll probably be ordered if world industries nears snapping.
Thanks for the help
dicky boy
get it from slam or another skater owned shop, kates skates seems to be really expensive, even if it is only a few squid.
Like i said Slam city skates boi
Elf
will i need new trucks to compensate for the extra width?
dicky boy
no, trucks are basically the same unless you buy an 8" board.
the trucks you have will be ok up to 7.75 but youll need wider 4 an 8", the trucks will still go on to the board they'll just be narrower than the board.
Elf
Ok, thanks.
On SlamCity all of the landscape boards seem to have disapeared?
I was thinking of a 7.6, because i still cant get my kickflips all the way round on my 7.5, and if its harder with a bigger size then.....
But will the difference be noticeable to a 7.75? and also make it harder to turn?
