hey, im 17 just started skating like 2 days ago, ive got an old board which i pratise on, Called a "poison contamination" its old put it this way, cost about £50 wen i first bought it. Im starting pratising everyday for like 3 to 4 hours, is it worth getting a new board maybe a lighter one? and also do skater shoes help with performance?

ahh my first deck was a poison and it lasted for quite a while. only replace it if its falling apart or REALLY worn down.

Skate shoes do help lots, and if you get a new setup get landscape deck and thunder trucks... no one needs wheels.

Hi there ,

In my opinion the board you have, as long as its in reasonable condition keep it and use it, it should be fine to learn basics on like - ollies, pop-shuvs etc . Also if your skating solid for 3 -4 hours a day you will proably pick up tricks at a decent rate. biggrin.gif . If your still wanting to get a new board i would recommend going to your local skate shop and picking up a blank deck ( usually cheaper as no graphic on it ) and usually they are good for learning.

As with skate shoes, i would say yes they do help, i find them a lot comfier and also provide me with great grip biggrin.gif
