yep, have lost all abilitys of getting hyped to skate, i haven't skated atall for nearly 3months.
used to get hyped just thinking about new lines or watching clips on youtube or generally talking about and now i don't.
thou to be fair, i ripped the ligaments in my left ankle but that was 3months back and last time i ripped my ligaments i was skating a week later.
thou am at a point where i don't want to skateboard and do tricks mainly cause i really don't want to rip my ligaments again, both my ankles are still fucked to a point where i can't ran nor jump.
am still happy to film lines and shizz for people and attempt taking pics but the main side of skating is now dead for me

or just sleeping. i think everyone has gone thourgh/will go through a period where things just feel like it may well be all over.
don't write yourself off entirely, but if it time for a break, its a time for a break.

Ankles are the biggest pain in the arse when it comes to come to skateboarding, but if you have genuinely lost intrest then wow, you seemed such a dedicated skater judging from what i know and seen about you, maybe you just to take abit more time off then you will get your passion back. The way i look at it is, remember when you first picked a board up an remember the excitement you had when your learnt your first tricks and look at how much you have improved since.

I have had 'time off' from skating in the past due to injury/people quiting/becoming a father ect. The break does you good in my opinion, lets all them niggling injuries heal properly.
One thing i found though was i still saw places as 'spots' and my ears would prick up at the clickety clack of wheels trundling along the pavement..weird how it always comes back to haunt you.

I get this - not to quite the same extent - every time i have a bad sesh, or when i just get really stuck on a trick i've been attempting for ages, which happens far too often for my liking, usually end up stopping skating and just sitting down watching everyone else, and then go home in a sulk like a 5 year old. But i find after time this just goes away and in a couple of days i'm desperate to skate again. There's no point skating if you're not having fun doing so though, so take some time out, and if you want to get back into it then do, and if not, then don't.

Honestly I think it's just a phase. Every skater I've talked to has said they go through phases of being really into it, then not skating at all. For me personally it's seemingly random. I stopped then two years later got the urge to pick up my board again and start skating... now I'm on a bit of a low again. Just do it when you feel like it.

im going through a similar thing at the moment. i just cant be bothered skating, and i have lost motivation to get back on the board. well actually ive lost motivation for most things at the moment. il skate like once every 3-4months, and thats just to the shop and back not a proper session.

I've just came out of a longish time of putting skating on the back burner. I wasn't getting as excited and it was hard to find time or paces while I was at Uni. But now I am happy to announce my return to my favourite board sport.
I found that the Tom Penny Mixtape is a great cure.

I've come to grips with acknowledging that I may not be able to skate everyday for hours anymore, however it does not mean I am a sell out. Like I don't have the eagerness to want to skate all the time now as I have a girlfriend and other dedications in life however I do find time coming onto sk8uk and sites which keeps me involved in the skateboarding scene and therefore proloning my commitment to being a skateboarder.
It's great when you haven't skated in a while and the rush of adrenaline comes back to you, I got it today when I had a crazy sesh on my own.

I know what you mean man. im just gettign back into it. i ripped ligaments in both ankles i carnt skate stairs as much as i used to which sucks real bad because thats where i grew up.
If your not motivated just take a few weeks break and you should be good to go. it doesnt help me that people that i used to skate with dont skate no more.
