The ramps at my local skate park are really bad, the transition is terrible. I went from one smaller bank to the other and hit the transition and went flying forwards cuz its so flippin dodgy!!! Damnit. I want a new skate park!! Mind you, if we did have a new one, all the chavs would hang around drinking on the ramps, like they already do...i hate chavs angry.gif grr.

Now then, forgive me if i'm wrong, but you've been skating for a couple of months at most, right?
Part of me wants to post a similar rant, albeit in a more condescending way, but i'll just say this:

You will do next to nothing on your first try in skateboarding.

Yes I know I'm not that good and I can't do much but I'm progressing and it would be nice to have a decent park so I can actually learn.

Let me guess - metal council funded park?
Coley
yep, locals got to design it
the suggestion of just a concrete bowl didnt go down well with the bmx's
so we ended up with metal ramps
Aliceislearningtoskate
I don't really like the metal ramps at my local park, bit slippy. I prefer the concrete ones at my other park.
Spicker
skate at your other one then...
Mikeyfish
Mmmm my love for concrete spans the endlessness of time, and skims my skin with the lovebites of fail. Its a love hate relationship but its beautiful.

Yeah but thats the one all the chavs hang around at. It was alright when I was on study leave because I used to go and no one would be there, but now everyones off. Oh well.

But it's not that I'm embarrassed it's the fact that the last time I went to the park with some friends they threw bricks at us when we asked them to move. That was not pleasant.
Fozzz
Why did they have bricks? Unless your park was made of bricks, I can only assume they brought bricks with them. You have to worry for the mental stability of anyone who chooses to take bricks with them wherever they go. It's them I feel sorry for in all of this

Throw them back!

Seriously, I would just be tempted to move on and skate elsewhere.
Jaxx
Hah, i remember the days of being fucked off by chavs.
i remember once when we were skating a bench or something, and this Woman actually Gave her Little kid a glass bottle to throw at us. She had like 3 other kids with her who were also looking for stuff to throw. Sort of like TRAINING them to hate skateboarders.

Nice people eh?

But i agree with Viv, i always think its better to leave and find somewhere else, The worst you'll get is a few punches or something..i hope.

Shame to hear your troubles of riding ramps (@ thread starter)

It makes me laugh as it further more makes me realise how lucky and gratful us St Neoters should be for our park.

We did move on eventually but it was really annoying because they were everywhere...they just invaded blink.gif

They were throwing those gravel like brick thingys, there are just rocks and bricks lying around on the grass and the concrete randomly. They're not huge but they hurt.
Duffy!
thats sad and i know how you feel my local park (one in kirkby) is full of chavs usually they dont bother us but 2 of them came and started to fight with us. there was 4 of us so i thourght how stupid are they then i looked around and saw another 20 of them getting ready to circle us in so i shoated to my m8s to run like fuck lucky my mates got out but i got jumped by about 4 of them (we split up and sed to meet back at my mates house) but lucky enough i didnt get punched bad, my mates found me and jumped them (i was lucky enough not to be far from my mates house that why they saw them) thats why i only skate at rampworx now because im scared to go back there or even skate on the streets (dont mind town because usually there is a big gang of us about 15)

Brackets are IN.

JJBDude
I tend to use brackets a lot too lol.

Dang some of the stories I hear seem unbelieveable! Now I know I don't live in the roughest area but it's not great, I never see crap like what you just said though.
