Och. Now i have to waste my time looking at this thread because i have an ocd about having none of those little orange squares at the side.
Although, i suppose it's better than having them clogging up the other threads.

James L
Jul 20 2008, 05:51 PM
lupos are ace, theres some really nice euro style ones round my way.

my gf is getting a polo when she passes her test, im sorely tempted to get a golf TDI as my next car and go euro style on it, lowered, bonnet bra debaged, would look the nuts i reckon.
Im getting fed up with the astra as it seems to have the 7 year itch, everythings going wrong and wearing out. drives nice but theres constant niggles.
sken if your about- what causes engine pinking under load, and how can i get rid?
KMA
Jul 20 2008, 06:18 PM
thats what am aiming for with the lupo, smooth it out and euro it
thats also why i want to get rid of the rover, am constantly worried thats something is going to go wrong, so am just going to tidy it up and sell it
thou i would love the lupo GTI

Not a chance with mods with Churchill most likely.
Give Endsleigh, Adrian Flux and Quinn Direct a go.
James L
Jul 20 2008, 08:49 PM
give adrian flux a try, cosmetic mods dont affect your policy, and theyre pretty reasonable on performance mods aswell.

that is actually how mine stands at the moment. When i stop pissing money away on expensive gadgetry like cameras the plan is:
A FUCKING CLEAN.
Finish de-rustripping
colour code
lower
wheels
and see where it goes from there. comedy pink steel wheels are being done when i definately have alloys on the way

the new lupo?? i dont think it looks nice at all, prefer the new polo
anyone know what the cost difference between the two is roughly?
edit: just realised i finally have a picture of my car in daytime, and ive had my car over 2 years now ha. you gotta look at my ugly mug aswell though unfortunately.

edit2: nothing special, just a pretty standard 106 zest.

ermmm just a little thing about that the quote may not be the same if you go to the insurer directly the price can be higher than what it says in the quote so just be careful on them sites

That goes without saying really. Of course it is going to be a different price when you actually take out a policy a those quotes are based on very limited information. Even if you went through the comparison site the end price of the policy will almost certainly be more than the quote.

Each to your own, that's my little Polo, it's not my daily driver I use the Passat for that. I didn't mean for you to sell your car for an old dub, but let's face it anything from Germany is going to be better than something GM made or a Rover. . .

Of course each to their own, but tbh i still wouldnt want to spend my money on a newer VAG. They are good cars, but in every single class theres a few cars I'd much rather have. For example, if i was in the market for a hot hatch, i would be looking at Clio 197's, Astra/Corsa VXR's (the Astra VXR is the fastest FWD production car around the 'ring bar the new Megane renaultsport special edition) and Alfa 147GTA's.

Jul 31 2008, 08:44 PM
Fair enough, the reason I have VW's is that they are generally alot more reliable than anything else I have ever had, have galvanised bodies, look nice, can take a thrashing without many ill effects, and you are always going to be able to sell them on easily enough without getting hit too hard by depreciation. I even feel safer in them, when I drive the company cars at work that are things like brand new Focus' they just feel tinny and naff after getting out of my 9 year old car with nearly 100K on the clock.
