Now fuck off and let the art fags have their threads.

Go.
KAONASHI
Inb4 'throw some d's on that bitch'.

And outb4 something relevant gets posted.
Peter.
Not a bad idea actually.

I have yet to take some shots of my baby but will put some up soon.
Gorg.
Och. Now i have to waste my time looking at this thread because i have an ocd about having none of those little orange squares at the side.

Although, i suppose it's better than having them clogging up the other threads.
Edwin
i guess this post wouldn't help the ocd then

James L

the ass end of my astra, with a few mods now. next few weeks will be a 40mm drop all round.
KMA
did you get your exhaust system sorted in the end james?

James L
yeah got a new shorter backbox that fit properly, hell will freeze over before i use longlife exhaust again! on the plus managed to blag that larger oval tailpipe for free!

what did u do abt the rovers head gasket in the end?
KMA
nice

got it replaced £369 i payed instead of £669, thank god for the £300 warrenty

goes back to the garage once i've done about 500+ miles for a quick check, then am going to sell the bastard and buy a lupo

James L
lupos are ace, theres some really nice euro style ones round my way.

my gf is getting a polo when she passes her test, im sorely tempted to get a golf TDI as my next car and go euro style on it, lowered, bonnet bra debaged, would look the nuts i reckon.

Im getting fed up with the astra as it seems to have the 7 year itch, everythings going wrong and wearing out. drives nice but theres constant niggles.

sken if your about- what causes engine pinking under load, and how can i get rid?
KMA
thats what am aiming for with the lupo, smooth it out and euro it

thats also why i want to get rid of the rover, am constantly worried thats something is going to go wrong, so am just going to tidy it up and sell it

thou i would love the lupo GTI
Gazza_DJ
This turned up at my house today:

Apparently we have no money, but we could afford that? *shrug*
Edwin
once i get a few years no claims under my belt and some cash built up, im after one of these babes

rs turbo in panther black.
Rodney
Lupos are really quite ugly.
James L
my cousin had a fiesta rs turbo.

stupidly quick car, bit plasticy inside though. but handled well.
KMA

Not a chance with mods with Churchill most likely.

Give Endsleigh, Adrian Flux and Quinn Direct a go.
James L
give adrian flux a try, cosmetic mods dont affect your policy, and theyre pretty reasonable on performance mods aswell.

yours?

Nah, if it was that would be one funny looking corsa

Its someones car from the Corsa C forums, lovely little motor. He has also added a little red pinstripe round the front grille, Mk5 Glf GTI style, looks really good.
Gazza_DJ

that is actually how mine stands at the moment. When i stop pissing money away on expensive gadgetry like cameras the plan is:

A FUCKING CLEAN.
Finish de-rustripping
colour code
lower
wheels

and see where it goes from there. comedy pink steel wheels are being done when i definately have alloys on the way
KMA
you going to get rid of the plastic door trim?

car goes into the garage next week to check if the head gasket is sealed proper from when it was fitted

if clear, then lupo buying time
Spicker
the new lupo?? i dont think it looks nice at all, prefer the new polo

anyone know what the cost difference between the two is roughly?

edit: just realised i finally have a picture of my car in daytime, and ive had my car over 2 years now ha. you gotta look at my ugly mug aswell though unfortunately.

edit2: nothing special, just a pretty standard 106 zest.

yeah, problem is you need a good few hours to do it - the marks the glue leave are awful sad.gif

Where should I start looking for insurance?
HARRY.
theres a company called quinns, who are meant to be fucking amazing for your first year's insurance.
i think it's quinns anyway.
KMA
all depends on the car and what your doing

churchill are pretty good and ecar/quinn direct are good + ok with mods

Confused.com and moneysupermarket, find a cheap quote then ring the insurer directly.

ermmm just a little thing about that the quote may not be the same if you go to the insurer directly the price can be higher than what it says in the quote so just be careful on them sites
KMA
but it still narrows it down to cheap insurance companys for males
Duffy!
not all companys are on there and also if you talk to them direct they can give you a cheaper quote might be even cheaper then the one you was looking at

That goes without saying really. Of course it is going to be a different price when you actually take out a policy a those quotes are based on very limited information. Even if you went through the comparison site the end price of the policy will almost certainly be more than the quote.

Yes get rid of the Rovers and Vaxhalls - dubs is where it's at. My fella and I have 4 between us. '96 transporter van - good for hols '88 golf gti 16v good for fun in the lanes '99 1.8T passat good for Motorway cruising and comfort and last but not least my '91 Polo which just failed it's mot and needs a steering rack which i'm gonna have a go at doing myself - good for learning how cars work and playing with!

Here's the beasty his names Ruben Marco

Gazza_DJ
Sorry, but I would never get rid of my car for an old VW like that - it would be a complete downgrade in pretty much every respect.
KMA
really hate golfs, everyone bums them to death

can't find the right wingmirrors for my car, no one has them anywhere

might have to search a scrappy
Gazza_DJ
Have you tried MG-Rover breakers?
Becky
Each to your own, that's my little Polo, it's not my daily driver I use the Passat for that. I didn't mean for you to sell your car for an old dub, but let's face it anything from Germany is going to be better than something GM made or a Rover. . .

i would like to say yes but no

thou i did find me a list of rover part dealers on google

cheers
Gazza_DJ
Of course each to their own, but tbh i still wouldnt want to spend my money on a newer VAG. They are good cars, but in every single class theres a few cars I'd much rather have. For example, if i was in the market for a hot hatch, i would be looking at Clio 197's, Astra/Corsa VXR's (the Astra VXR is the fastest FWD production car around the 'ring bar the new Megane renaultsport special edition) and Alfa 147GTA's.
Becky
Fair enough, the reason I have VW's is that they are generally alot more reliable than anything else I have ever had, have galvanised bodies, look nice, can take a thrashing without many ill effects, and you are always going to be able to sell them on easily enough without getting hit too hard by depreciation. I even feel safer in them, when I drive the company cars at work that are things like brand new Focus' they just feel tinny and naff after getting out of my 9 year old car with nearly 100K on the clock.
Treflip
This thread is now about dream cars.

Gazza_DJ
If we are talking Camaro's, its got to be the COPO Camaro RS or nothing biggrin.gif
