I went to investigate this park today, i was pretty impressed. Apparently it was designed by the skaters. I took some pictures which i will upload tomorrow as it's nearly 3am and i am tired! They also have two movable grind boxes (one of which you can see in the pictures).There was some quite good skaters there too. I went with Col who was too hungover to do anything much. He managed a hardflip over the pyramid and a few flatland tricks before complaining of a super headache. We ended up in the pub for treatment.

If you're going to Matlock again, check out the bowl at Darly Dale public park, its a pretty cool spot if you like skating bowls.

I used to go to Matlock loads because my grandad lived in Bakewell. There was nothing to skate back then though. Pitty he died, I have no reason to make the 3 hour journey to check out that park now

I haven't actually been to the skatepark but from the photos it looks like it is in Hall Leys Park between the River Derwent and Causeway Lane.

There is also a skate shop just behind the skate park should you need anything or simply want to browse. It's on Dale road.

I live in ilkeston we sometimes visit matlock but on the rare occasion might swing by the park next time we head up
