This park does not have a website but i last visited there in 2003, i think the park layout has been changed so the photos i have of the place might not reflect what is there now. I do know a vert ramp has been built there and now seems to have the addition of pool tables and consoles from what i have read about the place on various other websites.
If anyone has any information on admission costs and opening hours and has photos of what the park looks like now, that would be greatly appreciated.
Helmets must be worn by everyone, the park does not hire helmets out for health and safety reasons so to avoid disappointment take your own with you.
You can find some photos i took in 2003, i don't know how much of the park is still the same though.

Nice looking park, however I wouldn't skate it on a busy day because 1)you'd end up hitting skating into someone every 2 minutes and 2) I can picture there being alot of complete arseholes there who like to taje the piss out of shite skaters

I don't think BMXers are allowed in either, only only special days.

Hey Darris
Just wondering if you took those photos of Mount hawke yourself, and if so could I please use them for my student magazine? I'm writing a feature about skating facilities in Cornwall and forgot to take photos last week when I was up there! Lemme know either way cheers

Nah just outdoor, ive been there 3 times I think. If it rains though you have to leave and can only go back if it dries up. I remember I had to session a curb outside the park until it had dried up!

Yeah you have to pay. Its £2 to rent a helmet, £5 deposit for the helmet but you get that back at the end, and £5 to stay there all day I think!

Wooden Waves is now free? Is it all outdoor or indoor? I don't normally spend too long in Newquay if I am down Cornwall as its normally packed.

Yeah if you go to mount hawke on a weekday you usually have the whole park to yourself from 9 til about 5, its cool.
Wooden Waves is a rotten mess of damp wood, rusty copings and deep puddles - the park is a shithole and is destined to be knocked down very soon. Hopefully make way for Truros Plaza.

Nah its not, Wooden Waves is a good park. It has a bit of everything there, rails (well one rail) blocks, funbox's, hip, quaters, hipped quarters, vert ramp, mini ramp with transfer, jump box, spine, vert wall, flatbanks, and flat ground if you feel like taking a break from obstacles. Whats not to like about it, except the roughish floor lol but its far from the worst ive seen!

Hello everyone

, i was just wondering if anyone was interested in making a skate video with me?
I have been skating for a long time and have been very on and off, at one stage i was quite good and now im not although i will still flip the odd stair set.
Cornwall is where i will do the filming, so i would be looking for plenty of locals.
Basically and College i have been asked to compile a promo of anyone in Cornwall who skates, i will be using professional equipment that will editied on the best software around.
I will be coming around in March time to start my filming process which shall take around a week. All im looking for is for a few people, maybe a group of friends to skate on camera and do a short interview on how skateboarding has influenced you.
Im only 17 myself so it would be good if i can get my own skating on camera as well.
Anyone who participates will recieve a free deck and a fully edited copy of their skating.
Thanks everyone
