What is Deck Checking an Ollie? I should probably know this but I only just started skating and I don't know these things yet

Well I've been skating on and off for the last 16 or so years and I've never heard of deck checking..
Maybe it means looking at your board to see if you've scratched it?

Oh okay thanks... I think its a bad thing because people were talking about it like only newbies do it, and I didn't want to do it.. whatever it is lol

ive never heard of it anyway, maybe it means checking the tightness of your trucks, and that your board feels comfortable before you ride? just a guess

I think its where newbies stand there and act like they're checking their deck instead of just jumping on the thing and skating

Yer thats what i think, like when newbies start and they go to like skateparks, they tend not to want to skate in front of the more advanced skaters, so they just stand there pretending to check their board.

All the kids around my area always come up to me and ask, "Is that deck an element?"

I do that sometimes, but its ok. I like to touch the tail part where it developed a smooth curvy surface from all the slamming, or spin the wheels, or flip it into the air and then catch it again
