There's Hanger 81 in Bargoed (about 25 mins from Cardiff)
http://www.caerphilly.gov.uk/hanger81/hanger81.htm which is pretty good, indoors and normally quite quiet.
There's also going to be a £250k park soon in Aberdare (again about 30 mins ish from Cardiff)
http://www.aberdareskatepark.wanadoo.co.uk/ Outdoors and concrete - looks like it's gonna be killer!

The main indoor park in Bridgend Recreation Centre has now closed down forever. It's a shame because that park was great.
However, in the car park under the recreation centre, they have a small street setup there in the nights from 6-10 apart from weekends.
This is just a rumor but there is supposed to be some kind of 'Skate Plaza' coming to Bridgend. I hope it's true as it'll be great getting a new place to skate.
Anyway, there's a skate park in Maesteg about a 2 minute walk away from my house. It's quite small but it's good enough. It's built out of this hard concrete stuff which means it will be around for a while and won't rot away.
It has 3 flatbanks, 2 quarterpipes, a small roll-in, a small spine, a pyramid, a funbox, a manual box and a hand rail. Not to mention the 'mushroom hut' there where all random chavs hang out drinking, shouting stuff at you.
If any of you plan on going there, just find the old blast furnace next to the leisure centre and walk up those huge set of steps. It's agony getting to the top.
But the thing that pisses me off about our skate park is that there's shitloads of land in that area and only about one fifth is being used.
Several rumors have been going around about the free land. Some people have said it's going to be a dirt track, others have said they're putting a bowl there and other people have said there's going to be a basketball court there but I hope not as that will interfere with the skate park a lot.
Anyway, there's a couple more things I would like to find out.
First of all, where is the Porthcawl indoor skate park and when is it open? I've heard it's in the old Jennings warehouse.
Secondly, people have been saying that the skatepark opposite the Quadrant shopping centre in Swansea is closed. Is this true?
Thanks for all your help and I hope that I have been a help!

Yeah it was. Usually, it would be open every Summer but a few months ago, they held their last annual skate jam. Now it's shut down forever due to undisclosed reasons.
