Hey.

KK, so rochester used to be the most crappy town on erath, but now its asweome!! About 5min drive from my house is this cool park called unit 1 (previuosly called demonsk8) which is really cool, it has a funbox, stairs loaads of rail, miniramp, big vert, rollin, tonnes of quarter randomly scatterered, and a HUGE flatbank. Oh, and it also has some coll flatland place with a gret surface.

Unit 1 is kinda awesome, some decent skaters and nice surface on all the ramps (although the mini mini in the corner is kinda sketchy). Go on a friday night 7-10 and you get three hours for £2.50 instead of two, or during the week if you like it quiet. The only thing is watch out for kids party's! 20+ 5 year olds sittin down and going down the tiny flat banks really gets in everyones way and screws up a session!

Also in the rochester area, there's a village mini ramp with a spine which was recently resurfaced in the village of burham. Its right next to the village hall, which has parking spaces. Theres a small shop oposite which sells food and stuff.

Further along is eccles, which has a poorly made funbox and a couple of rubbish QP's and low rail. Only worth going to if you live really close and want a challenge, its damn hard to do anything there because its so tiny!

Are there any decent spots in rochester itself?

Ive been skating the medway towns for close to 8 years now and rochester, although it is a meeting/hanging point for alot of alternative kids, there isn't actualy that much to skate in Rochester itself. The fact that the town is fucking old and covered in cobbles doesnt help.
But there are a couple of spots such as the kings school primary playground which has a grass gap, little bank and tiny wooden ledge. not bad for a kick about but be sure to only go there after 6pm on weekdays and saturdays. It's easy to get chucked off so when they ask you to leave just leave, dont argue back or they'll take more steps to stop us skating and that'll be that spot shut down.
Theres also the "coach park" which is just a car park to practice or warm up before heading to chatham.

chatham really is the better place to skate in medway cause you got the marble ledges, various banks dotted around and plenty of concrete to explore. just dont get beaten up.

chatham doesnt really have much, couldn't find any ledges i think there gone, just some banks and benches, and a little "biscuit" thing down by tescos end which is fun for manny's and stuff

I know this thread is ancient, but I searched Medway and found this. tongue.gif

Unit 1 Skatepark is now closed, as you probably already know... sad.gif
