Must agree its a lot different than the photos on the site!
Nick killed himself doing 50-50s and 5-0s down the hubba ledges.. he nailed them in the end though

Had loads of fun on the mini, then proceeded to see how high up the vert wall i could get, guessing i was around 15 feet when i bailed!! Damn i ache now hehe.
Going again at some point next weekend

the parks changed quite alot since those pictures.
the manny pad and funbox are now together making room for the new wembly gap. It's abit more cramped but its alot more fun :D

I skated there on Friday.. First time I've skated since they put the wembley gap in..
I must say the wembly gap splits up the park as 90% of the skaters can't go over it.. That was a good thing cos as you're skating one end you're not constantly interrupted by kids coming from the other end..
There are still some blocks to play on too which is good..

I found it a bit boring when I went the other week, cos no way can i do the wembly gap (too big) so i was just skating the little manny pad and blocks for ages. I cant skate mini either
Serapth
Jan 2 2006, 12:43 PM
All you need for that wembly gap is speed rob, down the big roll in, over the small driveway and up the wembly gap.
There were kids there who couldnt ollie high enough to get up the block/manny pad who were getting up the wembly gap with no problems.
Oh, bigger wheels help too

have they added some sort of safty barrier to the one side of it.. it kind of plays on the mind knowing that you could fling yourself off it if you miss a trick coming up. blindfallbail isnt my cup of tea

Im presuming you mean the roll in?
I loved doing tricks off the side of the wembley gap near te vert wall thingy.

They should just add an extention ramp over the wembly gap (obviously in just one small part!) so you can roll straight on and do the set/rail/ledge without losing speed. Plus if an annoying kid gets in the way you dont have to jump off your board and risk shin bashing

Pics of said wembly gap and stairset/hubba/rail...

I don't get the "open" thing . I've boardslided up the rail on the wembley gap :D

i mean added some sort of barrier where the guy in blue's standing. went yesterday and decided that its better they don't add one now because it would restrict the box there. Although you do have to think about the people sitting below there it doesnt look like it could stop a board too easily

I think a barrier needs to be added between the vert wall and the platform. I've nearly been hit by a flying board on more than one occasion and I've only skated there twice since the wembley gap has been there!

Jan 7 2006, 03:51 PM
Yeah know what you mean, can get well dodgy at times with people skating the gap while you hurtle full speed at the vert wall into them
Carey
Jan 7 2006, 03:55 PM
yeh true i did actually kick my board of that end once
an extension of the ledge would look good
Serapth
Jan 7 2006, 03:59 PM
I think they should move the vert wall and put flatblanks with blocks on the top along the side of where the hubba is and where the vert wall is now.
So much more could be done with that park with a little imagination

Just been to Ramp City ... I have to say that it rocks. All the poeple I meet there were really friendly and the ramp ... I found out that on saturdays 10am-4pm bikes are not allowed, which may appeal to alot of you.
Needless to say, if you live near Blackpool, this is an excellent place to skate.

Some interesting comments on the park in that lot.
1st someone said "there's so much could be done with a little imagination" very true indeed and if you look how far the park has come in the last 4 years you can see we are trying to get there, but it all takes money.
2nd The vending machine work as well as any other i have ever used yes at times they nick your money but also remember this, so many kids try and pull a fast one "oi mister it nicked my money" in the hope of free drink or food. Who's he meant to believe?
3rd Unfortunalty where ever there is a large3 group of people there always going to be a small number that steal the wankers, but its your property so look after it. The park is fully CCTVed but even that don't stop it.
4th Safety rail on the Wembley gap .. deal with it. If there was one put on it would the restrict other people lines, There's a little saying " you can't please all the people all the time"
5th As for 90% of skater not being able to get up the gap, yes this might of been true when we built it, but not now the challenge was there and the people stepped up to it. Unless by 90% you mean me LOL because i cant

And NO i don't own the park but have done a lot of the work there, i try to keep the website up to date but have a lot of other stuff that takes priority over it i am afraid.
I value your comments BTW constructive or not

I understand the fact you can't believe every kid that says "it nicked my money" -And it does work occasionaly but playing it safe would mean not putting the money in, I know i'm not going to, every 50p Counts
I suppose it's the same for all vending machines, I'm not "hating" ramp-city , I love it a paradise when the heavens open, Which they do quite often.
