SKATE LEGENDS COME TO LONDON’S CARNABY STREET
Vans is coming to London…On Saturday December 6 the world’s most legendary skate brand will be opening its European Flagship store in the middle of one of the biggest urban playgrounds on offer. Vans @ 47 Carnaby St. London…
VANS is home to some of the most influential skaters of the past, present and future and with this reputation to uphold it seems only fitting that the opening weekend should be one to remember. Tony Alva, Geoff Rowley, Jim Greco and Steve Caballero will be hanging out from 1pm at the store; the mini ramp out the back will be sessioned by some of Europe’s finest skaters (including Danny Wainwright, Franklin Stephens, Pete King, Mark Churchill, Ross McGouran) and BMX’ers (Sebastian Keep, Zach Shaw, Jon Taylor); and adding a little rock to the proceedings will the be infamous Christian Stevenson.
The weekend will also play host to an exclusive exhibition of customised Vans classic slip-ons. Over the past few weeks people including the Lost Prophets, The Bees, Liam Gallagher and Nicole Appleton, Dan from ‘A’, Colin from Hundred Reasons, Busted, Stella McCartney, skate stars Danny Wainwright and Franklin Stephens, snowboard stars Johno Verity and Scott Nixon have been customising pairs of VANS shoes which will be available to anyone interested in bidding for a one-off piece of counter-culture. All customised shoes will be auctioned off in aid of Surfers Against Sewage (www.sas.org.uk) and Regain (www.regainsportscharity.com). Don’t miss out - come down to the store and place your bid for the chance to win a one off piece of history. Bids can be made from Thrusday 4th December through to Saturday 6th December…
Not only have the boys from Lost Prophets customised some slip-ons for you to bid for in the auction but they will also be in store from 4 – 5pm on Saturday 6th to meet fans and sign some goodies….
And that’s it. No gimmicks, no ploys and no crappy stunts. VANS is opening its Flagship store at 47 Carnaby Street, London and we’d like to share it with you.
