Hello, just thought I'd introduce myself and seek some advice.

I have decided that I'm going to give skateboarding ago, after following it for a long time, and doing some work as a photographer, when I wasn't doing work for my business.

I've always had an interest, but never had the time. However, I have closed the business down to move on to other things, so I now have time to learn! Which is great! However, I am totally lost on where to start with a board.

I've played around with a cheap board a few years ago till the truck snapped as it was a cheap board, but was all I can afford. I have played many sports, and also inline skate a lot, aswell as previously playing Ice Hockey, and was massively into Parkour a couple of years ago. Growing up just isn't fun, but it will be soon! :D

Now I'm 23, 6foot tall, 8.5UK Shoe size, and weigh around 12stone. But I can't find any real decent info on what boards to buy, I know the usual companies to look at, Blind, Element, Almost, Alien Workshop, etc, from X Games and TV, etc etc etc, But I don't want to pay over the odds for a board to start with, just because it has a brand name on.

I have made a short list of a few completes, and would like any feedback possible on the set ups or any other suggestions.

Thank you for reading, and I will very much appreciate any advice that people can offer.

After doing some searching and reading, I know to avoid the Renner, but opinions seem mixed on the Enuff completes.

So I hit google some more, and came up with these other 2.

Will that blind be ok for a beginner? Or am I better going for the Almost?

That Almost complete looks fine for a beginners setup, I wouldn't recommend the Blind one however.

You'll probably want a 7.75 width.

Thank you Wilko, I eventually went for a complete slightly cheaper than the almost, but seemed to read ok on the forums.

I went for the Habitat Iris Complete which incidentally is 7.75" I ordered it from Vapourised so should be here by end of the week hopefully :D

Habitat have always received positive reviews, so you've made a good choice :)
