Hi
I'm 19 and this is my first time ever on a skateboard! Weird i know.
I have a problem with the basics that i want to fix as soon as possible so i don't learn bad habits.
I'm very very very right handed and anything on my left side feels really strange. So i keep my strongest foot (right) on the board and push with my left.
However...
When i bring my pushing left foot onto the board its now at the back and feel really strange and i can push down on the tail with my weak foot, i feel really off balance.
I find it easiest to push goofy and ride regular.
I have tried pushing regular and its impossible to balance on my left leg. Doing it goofy feels so natural.
But rolling regular feels so easy aswell.
Can anyone help?

Why is pushing mongo bad?
Your analogy also doesn't work.
What are the "disadvantages" to pushing mongo?

Takes a little longer to set up after pushing. After a normal push, you just need to move your foot back onto the tail, but after a mongo push you need to move your foot from behind you to the front of the board then reposition your back foot onto the tail. It's just a little awkward. There are advantages if you are riding nollie or fakie though.

i dont reckon thats true. as ive said before ive done both and it really makes no difference. it may take longer for someone who already pushes normally but if you push mongo and your trying regular then the same could be said.
also if your pushing regualr you still need to move your front foot to set up for the trick, it just to you it feels more comfortable.
ultimatley learn to push both it will help you when you come to doing fakie and nollie and people wont judge you for it.
