Am I Too Old To Skate Ctd…
So firstly you need a set up, you might want to go to your local skate shop (this list is the skater owned shops around the UK, there is other shops that sell complete set ups but most of the staff in SOS shops tend to know what they are talking about and will help you out with any questions you may have) or be happy buying from the internet, you can find information of what parts make up a skateboard here, many shops sell complete set ups, be prepared to pay at least £60 for a decent set up, there is a few websites that sell cheap completes, if you would rather spend a little amount and then decide whether its for you or not sites like Todd Twists on ebay sell completes for about £40.
Once you have a board you need to gain confidence riding around, if you are starting again after having skated previously then you will probably find it won’t take long before you pick it back up again, you may also find you can land things that you couldn’t before. If you are starting from scratch then you need to get comfortable with your board, find somewhere flat and stand on the board whatever way feels comfortable to you and push about a bit. It might take a while to gain confidence doing this and don’t think you need to learn anything in a set time. Skating first and foremost is about having fun and learning at your own pace.
